Smt. Vijayalakshmi

Smt. Vijayalakshmi a dancer, a teacher and a choreographer who hails from chennai, Started learning bharathanatyam in Melathur Style under the guidance of her Guru S.R. Ravichandran.

She further enriched herself by joining “TAMIL GOVT MUSIC COLLEGE” and trained in nattuvangam from Guru. Tanjavur Hariharan Herambanathan.

She is the founder director of viji’s aarts academy in agaram (Perambur) where she is teaching for several years. Vijayalakshmi is a “Adarkalaimani” title holder in Bharathanatyam from Govt Music College, Chennai. Bharathanatyam is a passion and a way of life for her. She perceives it as a sacred art, which she feels her”soul”itself.Students of her institute have participated in Chinnamelam – Tanjavur, Natyanjalis held in Tanjavur, Thiruvaiyaru, Pandanallur.And other places like Thiruvanaikaval, Chotanikarai, Mysore Palace, Srivari Tirupathi, Golden Temple – Vellore, Sri Villiputhur and showered laurels to the institution. They have also participated in Jaya TV and Vasanth TV shows.

Her main objective is to promote the beauty of indian classical dance to younger generation through this art form. She is working towards increasing awareness of this beautiful dance form by staging and choreographing. She has combined here knowledge with a passion of teaching and imparts to her students a love for the art. She maintains her students  enthusiasm and generates stage confidence.
A first class post graduate in computer science and a graduate of education, Vijayalakshmi has also completed M.F.A. (Bharatanatyam) in first class. She continues her journey in the divine path of art, by keeping herself receptive for learning , and encourages her students too to be open for learning. She realises that learning is an endless process and art helps one to experience the joy of progress in life, and continuous her learning from Renowned Guru. Thanjavur Hariharan Herambanathan and Sangeethanathak Academy awardie Guru. Thanajur Herambanathan in both performing and nattuvangam skills. She has performed extensively in India and abroad. Her name has been entered in “Wonder Book of Records International” for “Best Performer“. She has done 6 arrangements for her disciples.

In Bharathanatyam, She was a good disciple and now a good teacher, successfully spotting and training many talented girls to carve a dancing career.
